November Book of the Month:

I found it impossible to pick just 1 book this month so I decided to choose 2 (1 adult and 1 YA).  The adult book was an easy choice to make and is Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill but I had a bit more trouble choosing the YA book of the month.  I can't narrow it down to less than 2 so since this is my blog & I can set the rules I'm actually going to have 3 books of the month for November :o)  My YA picks are The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting and You Against Me by Jenny Downham.

Event Reports:
I was lucky to be invited to a couple of publishers offices this month to find out all about the new releases they have planned for next year.  Let me tell you next year is going to be a very exciting year for books!  The first event was at the Atom offices and as they are the publishers of some of my favorite paranormal series I was really looking forward to seeing what they have got coming soon.  You can read my full event report here to find out more about their newest releases.

The second event was with Walker where they were introducing their new Undercover Reads YA branding.  I haven't had time to write up the details yet but they have some great books coming out next year and we got to meet lovely UK author Zoe Marriott who was talking about her new book Shadows on the Moon that comes out next summer.  I have to say that is probably one of my most anticipated reads of next year so I was very excited that we got given an advanced copy & I can't wait to read it!  I'll be writing up my report in the next few days so look out for it next week if you want to find out more about what Walker have planned for us next year.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to both Atom & Walker for organising these blogger events, it's great fun getting to find out more about what goes on in a publishers office and getting a sneak peak about the books they're excited about.

Author's Animal Antics:

I haven't got as much time as I would like to organise guest posts for Author's Animal Antics so this feature will probably be a bit sporadic for the next couple of months, I'm hoping to get back on track with things when I eventually find a new place to live & get the move over & done with.  In the meantime if there are any authors who would like to take part please feel free to contact me (you can find out more about the feature here).  This month we had a great guest post from Kimberly Derting who was talking about her gender confused cat.  It's a really funny post so if you haven't already seen it you can click here to read it now.

HIV / AIDS in YA Lit Week:
December 1st was World AIDS Day and Caroline from Portrait of a Woman has organised a campaign for book bloggers to help raise awareness.  You can find out all about the week on Caroline's blog here, lots of other bloggers are also taking part so keep an eye out on the blogosphere for reviews on various different books about this subject.  You can read my contribution to the week by clicking the links below:

@ Chrissie - Thanks hun, I'm still flat hunting & have had no joy so far but I don't think many people are going to want to be moving this close to Christmas. Fingers crossed that more things will come on the market in Jan :o)
